In 1990, two old surfers, Bill Allgeo and Bill Yerkes, two decided to put their ideas and talents together and form a company. Bill Allgeo had almost twenty years experience in the t-shirt printing business and Bill Yerkes had been involved in the surf and beachwear business so long that he was considered a pioneer in the industry. It seemed a natural to start a silkscreen printing company.
The goal was to provide the best quality silkscreen printing with an emphasis on service. "Quick reaction and turnaround was our emphasis from the beginning", says Yerkes. "With no compromise on quality", says Allgeo.
And so they gathered the best freelance artists and experienced printing technicians, built a facility with the most up to date state of the art equipment and starting churning out product for the premier customers in the surf, beach, and resort business in central Florida.
With over a decade of service, Tropical Design is now an international company with customers as far away as Europe and Japan.
Domestic customers include major attractions, retail stores, charities and churches.
Several brand name companies use the contract printing services provided by Tropical Design.
